Ross and Skye), and the Arran book by Ken Hall and I couldn't see it, but it was only a quick flick through.

From looking at the picture you posted I think it may be a tad small for what I had in mind, so I did a bit more digging about S.S. Hebrides and came across this plan: http://www.shipsofcalmac.co.uk/images/features/early_heb_1_large.jpg I think that will be much more elegant to have moored up at the pier.

Cheers,
Tom.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03840524223867789525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7664161328950208999.post-41335071701558678022009-11-12T17:53:34.758-08:002009-11-12T17:53:34.758-08:00Thanks for you interest Tom. All I can add about the Handa is the mention of her in Duckworth & Langmuir - I've added a scan of the pic in D&L to my flickr photostream

http://www.flickr.com/photos/24718842@N04/4099674596/

There are also two pics in Alistair Deayton's "MacBrayne Steamers" - one is a crop from a postcard also on my Flickr photostream

http://www.flickr.com/photos/24718842@N04/3222788055/

Which C Uncles book are you seeing the Handa in? I couldn't find her in Lochaber, Skye or Wester Ross - are there other CU books now?

NeilNeil Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15567487892239196569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7664161328950208999.post-32101952210070684172009-11-11T12:01:08.008-08:002009-11-11T12:01:08.008-08:00Hi Neil,

Very informative!

Just wondering if you have any info on a vessel that I may like to use for the basis of a model on Port na Cailliche, it's a Macbrayne's vessel, S.S. Handa. I'm struggling to find any info on it, do you happen to know of any pictures, I've got one in a Christopher Uncles book but that's it and some more would be useful. I believe it was referred to as their 'Gladstone Bag' due to it's small size yet high payload.

Cheers,
Tom.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03840524223867789525noreply@blogger.com
